Batik Air to Begin KL-Tokyo Flights on December 15

On December 15, Batik Air, previously Malindo Air, will begin daily service between Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo-Narita International Airport. The airline stated in a press release that it would utilise the brand-new Boeing 737-8 aircraft, which features 12 business class seats and 150 economy class seats. Captain Mushafiz Mustafa Bakri, the chief executive officer of Batik Air, stated that the additional services to Narita represent the airline’s determination to expand its network coverage and operations into the popular North Asian market.

Batik Air said that flight OD680 would depart Kuala Lumpur (KLIA) at 12:35 p.m. and arrive in Narita at 8:50 p.m. The return flight OD681 will depart Narita at 10:00 p.m. and land at KLIA at 5:10 a.m. It was stated that the new direct flights between Malaysia and Japan would facilitate tourist and economic activities.

Batik Air is giving an all-inclusive one-way promotional fare of RM1,599 for economy class and RM4,959 for business class ex-Malaysia and 57,300 yen for economy class and 178,000 yen for business class ex-Japan in connection with the launch. Batik Air intends to expand to additional Japanese locations, including Chitose Airport in Sapporo and Osaka.
